S & D Non-Ferrous stock tellurium copper in grades CW118C, C14500 & C109 which is a form of free machining oxygen free copper.
The machining qualities of tellurium copper are significantly improved upon those of pure copper, due to the addition of alloy. The machinability rating of pure copper is 20% compared with tellurium copper at 90% and the electrical and thermal conductivity is only marginally reduced.
Tellurium Copper is formed through refining, melting and casting for the production of the final product, however it is crucial that all oxygen is removed at this point to achieve a resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and also stop oxygen merging with the tellurium that would produce a brittle copper.
We carry CW118C tellurium copper in a range of formations, including tellurium copper bars or sheets, further information on the tellurium copper formations can be discussed in detail with a member of our S & D team.
We are committed to selling only the highest-quality products to our clients, so we source our tellurium copper from UK and European manufacturers. To learn more about our range of tellurium copper or for advice on the best products for you, please don’t hesitate to call us today on 0121 525 5500.
